Phnom Penh, March 8, 2025 – The 2025 Women Run 10K, held under the theme “Run Forward for Women” and starting from Botum Vatey Pagoda Park through Koh Pich and Koh Norea, successfully concluded on the morning of March 8, 2025, marking another milestone in promoting women’s empowerment through sports. Organized by the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) in collaboration with Sovannaphum Life Assurance Plc, the event gathered over 3,000 participants to celebrate International Women’s Day.

The event was honored with the presence of Lok Chum Teav Dr. Koy Pisey, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia and President of the Women and Sports Committee of NOCC; Lok Chum Teav Nhem Morokot, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Women’s Affairs of Cambodia and President of the Cambodia Dance Sport Federation; Dr. Hor Sovathana, Deputy Director General of the Insurance Regulator of Cambodia (IRC); and Mr. Kah Meng Loke, CEO of Sovannaphum Life Assurance Plc.

Speaking at the event, Lok Chum Teav Dr. Koy Pisey highlighted that the Women Run 10K aims to promote gender equality and empower women in sports while commemorating the 114th anniversary of International Women’s Day. She expressed her delight in seeing more than 3,000 participants of all ages join the event, emphasizing that this demonstrates a growing focus on sports, healthy living, and unity between men and women in fostering societal progress.

Mr. Kah Meng Loke, CEO of Sovannaphum Life Assurance Plc, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting women’s empowerment, stating, “We are proud to continue our partnership with NOCC as the main sponsor of the Women Run 10K for the fourth year.” He also announced that Sovannaphum Life is donating 2,000 riels per registered participant, totaling 8,000,000 riels, to support two organizations: Cambodian Women’s Crisis Center (CWCC) and Women Are Gold (WAG). These funds will contribute to study materials, library resources, and leadership training programs, including women’s leadership, financial planning, and financial management.

The 2025 Women Run 10K successfully brought together a diverse group of participants, reinforcing the message of empowerment, equality, and the importance of an active lifestyle in Cambodia.
